Features - The whole tour

Every part of the writing life, in detail.

Quilvo is built in four parts - you plan the story, write it, publish it, then take the long view. Each covers one stage of the work; together they replace the half-dozen tools writers usually patch together.

I.

The story.

The part most writing trackers leave out. A cast of characters that lives above your projects, a worldbuilding codex, an interactive relationship map, a story timeline, and a real outliner - as deep as a dedicated worldbuilding tool, and quiet enough to ignore.

6 chaptersa whole world0 clutter

01 - Characters

A cast that lives above your projects.

Build a character once and reuse them across a whole series. Each carries their own roles, pronouns, arcs, and profile notes - and takes a different part in every book they appear in.

  1. 01

Characters above projects a character exists above any one book and can appear in many.

  2. 02

Only a name required add role, pronouns, alias, a one-line hook, colour, and profile sections when you want them.

  3. 03

Per-project casting lead, cameo, or antagonist - the same character, a different role in each book.

  4. 04

Series cast aggregation pull a whole trilogy's cast together, with an "add to all" convenience.

  5. 05

List or cards a compact table or a portrait wall - your choice, remembered per browser.

02 - Relationship map

The shape of your story, as a constellation.

The flagship of the planning suite. Your whole cast rendered as a living, draggable map - bonds, rivalries, and family lines you can see, filter, and reshape without ever opening a form.

  1. 01

A living constellation avatar tokens with role-coloured rings; edge colour and thickness encode type and bond strength.

  2. 02

Hover to spotlight one character's relationships light up while the rest of the cast fades back.

  3. 03

Draw on the map hold Shift and drag one character onto another to create a bond, right in place.

  4. 04

Scope and filter everything, a series, or one project; the legend doubles as a type filter; search the cast.

  5. 05

Places overlay codex locations join their residents, with a minimap and full light / dark theming.

03 - Timeline

Two orders of time, one toggle.

A timeline that fits the way stories are actually built. Flip between the order you tell it and the order it happens; measure it in pure sequence, invented calendars, or real dates; read it as a canvas, a board, or a list.

  1. 01

Two orders, one toggle narrative order and true chronological order - switching animates every event into place.

  2. 02

A specificity ladder pure sequence, free-text labels, an invented numeric scale, or real calendar dates.

  3. 03

Three views a zoomable scaled canvas, a board card-wall, and a dense inline-editable list.

  4. 04

Points and spans model an instant or a duration; spans visually contain the events that fall inside them.

  5. 05

Threads and lanes group events by character, location, project, chapter, or plot thread.

04 - Codex

05 - The outliner

A real outliner, built for stories.

A full OmniOutliner-style planner that most story tools simply do not have. Twelve node types reshape to any format; drag-and-drop reordering writes straight back to your chapters and scenes; and the whole tree exports to Markdown, OPML, or plain text.

  1. 01

Twelve node types books, parts, acts, chapters, scenes, verses, notes - and the palette reshapes to your format.

  2. 02

Drag, drop, reorder grip-handle moves with before / after / inside drops that write back to your real chapters and scenes.

  3. 03
