A few practical questions

Before you begin.

Do I write my manuscript in Quilvo?

Keep drafting in your preferred editor. Quilvo holds your outlines, character and world notes, writing progress and publishing records. Draft tracking records milestones and counts; it is not a versioned archive of your manuscript files.

Can I use just one part of Quilvo?

Yes. Start with one project, a story map, your writing sessions or a submission log. You do not need to set up the other tools first. Planning works without logging word counts, and submission tracking works without a story outline.

Does Quilvo find publishers or send submissions?

You build your own list of publishers, journals and agents, and record where you have sent your work. Quilvo is not a maintained market directory and does not send your manuscript. Scheduled submissions help you plan when to send it yourself.

Does continuity checking read my manuscript or use AI?

No. Continuity checks use the story facts you enter, such as dates, character lifespans and locations. Travel checks also need a scaled map and dated story records. Optional connections to AI assistants are separate from these checks.

Can I bring existing work and export my records?

Import project records from CSV and outlines from OPML. These imports do not bring in your submission history or manuscript files. Export writing and planning records as JSON, with optional CSV files; export outlines as Markdown, plain text or OPML, and drawn maps separately as SVG.

Can I share a story map?

You can export a map as SVG and share that file. Interactive maps in your account are private. The free plan includes up to five maps with the editor and SVG export included.

Can I see Quilvo dates in another calendar?

Pro includes a calendar subscription feed for deadlines and follow-ups. It is a read-only feed: edit dates in Quilvo and your calendar app picks up the changes when it refreshes.
